About the Training Center

The Texas Public Health Training Center is one of 14 Public Health Training Centers across the nation established as collaborations between accredited schools of public health, governmental and public health agencies and related organizations. The mission of the TPHTC is to improve the state's public health system by strengthening the technical, scientific, managerial and leadership competencies and capabilities of the current and future public health workforce.

The priority audience for the TPHTC is public health personnel employed in local and state public health agencies. Targeted in the wider circle of influence are those who provide essential public health services in the non-profit, education, social service, corporate and other sectors, as well as graduate students in public health programs.
